The students of MBA department organized Battle of Skills event on 20th May 2016 at LUC Mayang campus under the supervision of Dr. Manjari Sharma, Associate Professor from Faculty of Business and Accountancy. The event was part of their curriculum. The purpose of this event was to create a practical environment, making the students go through the ups and downs of operational process and to be familiar with actual working environment with sufficient amount of pressure, to bring up the best in them. Various management games were conducted for LUC staff members and students. Dr. Abhijit Ghosh, Dean Faculty of Business and Accountancy welcomed the gathering. Ms. Margaret Judith Fernandez, Manager, Student Affairs, felicitated the event organizers and faculty of Business and Accountancy. Dr.Amiya Bhaumik, Vice Chancellor, and CEO, LUC graced the occasion with his presence. He motivated the students by sharing his experience and acquainted about the managerial and operational skills. On the whole the MBA students took this opportunity as a project and accomplished it in a specialized, lucrative, and judicious manner.
Lincoln University College and All American Institute of Medical Science, Jamaica have signed a Memorundum of Understanding (MOU) on 20th May 2016, in LUC Mayang Campus, to enhance collaboration for developing international research and joint venture academic exchange programmes related to Post graduate studies and USMLE based medical programmes.
The scope of the partnership will include Joint venture Masters and PhD programmes, USMLE based medical degree programme on lateral credit transfer basis, Combined Post graduate research studies, and joint scientific publications, Bi lateral faculty exchange programme.
The MOU was signed by Dr.Amiya Bhaumik, Vice Chancellor and CEO, LUC and Mr. Ramabraham Chalasani, Director, AAIMS in the presence of Prof. Datuk Dr. Abdul Gani Bin Mohammed Din, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Haji Mansor Ferner, Director of Curriculum Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jogenananda Pramanik, Dean Post Graduate Studies, Mr. Bhanu Prasad Katragadda, Finance Committee, AAIMS.
Department of Physiotherapy from Faculty of Science organized two days workshop on the topic “Manual Therapy Approach for Spine Dysfunctions” on 16th and 17th May 2016 (Monday & Tuesday). The workshop was conducted in LUC Kelana Jaya Learning site. Prof. Datuk Dr. Hajjah Bibi Floriana Abdullah, Pro-Chancellor presided over the function. Madam Sarkuna Devi, Consultant Physiotherapist/Manual Therapist, Prince Court Medical Center was the guest speaker of the workshop. 26 physiotherapists, from both private and government sector throughout Malaysia, participated in the workshop. The idea behind this workshop was to provide an immediate effect on clinical practice among physiotherapist in addressing patients with spine dysfunctions. The workshop was supportive to the participants to keep themselves updated in their professional practice.
Lincoln University College welcomed 83 students from University of Bengkulu, Indonesia, on 11th May 2016 (Wednesday). They were welcomed by Dato (AMB) Mohd Yusoff A. Bakar, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Student Affairs. These students in parallel to their studies are working in Government office at Badan Pengawasan Keuangan Dan Pembangunan. An introduction of Lincoln Summer Course was given by, Ms. Lina Tio, Regional Marketing Manager, LUC. Dr. Abhijit Ghosh, Dean, Faculty of Business and Accountancy, elucidated about DBA and various MBA programmes offered in LUC. In addition to the programme details the students also had the opportunity to visit our Mayang campus and Kelana Jaya Learning site. This visit will undoubtedly be a wonderful experience for the students.
The orientation program for new students, who registered for May 2016 intake, was held on 9th and 10th May 2016 at LUC Mayang Campus. This orientation was mainly for the Department of Biotechnology, Biomedicine, Business and Accountancy, Computer Science and Multimedia, Hospitality and Tourism, Engineering, Pharmacy, Medical Assistant. New Student Orientation was two days series of programs to welcome new students and ease their transition into Lincoln Community. It included opportunities to meet staff, and faculty as well as attend workshops, presentations, which helped the students acclimate to Lincoln College life. There they got the chance to meet their classmates, especially those outside their own divisions. New students Orientation at Lincoln University College was a one of kind experience that introduced the tools and resources needed to be a successful student. Students were fully immersed into the life of a LUC student in a classroom style setting covering important topics such as success strategies, campus resources, and technology.
